Muscat :The Ministry of Labour issued a warning regarding the practice of private training activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Ministry of Labour affirms that the practice of private training activities in the Sultanate of Oman, in all its types and modalities, including the delivery of training programmes, courses, workshops, and similar activities-whether conducted in person, virtually, or in a blended format-falls under the direct supervision of this Ministry. Such activities may not be undertaken without first obtaining the necessary licences and official approvals from the Ministry, represented by the Directorate General of Private Training Institutions. This is pursuant to:
-Ministerial Decision No. (2021/40) issuing the Regulation for the Organisation of Private Training.
-Royal Decree No. (2024/61) transferring the vocational training sector to the Ministry of Labour.
Accordingly, any practice of private training activity without obtaining the required licence shall be deemed a legal violation, which will entail the administrative and legal measures stipulated in the applicable legislation, including the imposition of fines. suspension of the activity, and referral of violators to the competent authorities.
The Ministry further reiterates its commitment to regulating the training market in a manner that ensures quality and compliance with the approved standards, and calis upon all those wishing to engage in this activity to submit their licensing applications through the official channels accredited by the Directorate General of Private Training Institutions.
