641 new jobs offered in public services sector

Muscat: The Committee for Operational Governance and Local Value-Added in the Public Services Sector, chaired by Dr. Mansoor Talib Al Hinai, Chairman of the Authority for Public Services Regulation, in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, has announced the launch of 641 new permanent positions through the digital Tawteen platform. This brings the total number of jobs announced by the committee since the beginning of the year to 2,148, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting employment and enhancing the participation of national competencies in the labour market.

This announcement aligns with national efforts aimed at empowering the Omani workforce and creating a stimulating work environment that contributes to enhancing local value-added and achieving sustainable development. The newly launched jobs are in the fields of electricity, water, sanitation, and service and maintenance contracts, in cooperation with companies regulated by the Authority for Public Services Regulation. This step meets the needs of the local market and supports the economic growth trends witnessed in the Sultanate of Oman.

The committee invited job seekers to apply for these positions through the Tawteen digital platform, stressing that this step represents a significant milestone towards achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to build a sustainable economy based on innovation and effective partnerships, and to provide quality job opportunities that contribute to raising Omanisation rates and enhancing the role of economic sectors in the Gross Domestic Product.

The committee affirmed its keen interest in the employment file as one of the main pillars of national development, clarifying that it is pressing ahead with following up the implementation of strategic objectives for the regulated sectors and ensuring their alignment with economic development priorities. This includes a focus on developing and qualifying national cadres and preparing an attractive work environment that enhances the effective presence of Omani capabilities in economic development and strengthens the national employment system.
