Oman’s Omar Al Ghailani shines at AIDA freediving worlds with four medals

Muscat – Experienced freediver Omar Abdullah al Ghailani brought pride to Oman by clinching four medals at the 35th AIDA Freediving World Championships 2025 held in Limassol, Cyprus, recently.  

Ghailani earned a silver medal along with two bronze medals, placing him second overall among 125 top-tier athletes from 54 different countries at the championships held from September 20 to October 1.

Al Ghailani went into the Limassol event with confidence, having earned a silver and finished runner-up overall at the CMAS Freediving World Championship 2025 in Mytikas, Greece, which took place from September 5 to 18. A total of140 competitors from 51 nations took part in the CMAS worlds.
