Muscat: Nama Electricity Distribution Company allocates more than OMR 120 million annually to implement its projects, with the majority of the investment directed toward enhancing the electricity network and connecting new subscribers. The company also invests in network development, automation, and the adoption of advanced smart grid management systems.

Engineer Alaa bin Hassan Al-Lawati, CEO of Nama Electricity Distribution, affirmed that electricity service is available at 100% coverage in all populated areas across the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing reliable service to all subscribers.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he explained that the current coverage rate of the electricity distribution network—representing the actual extension of infrastructure—stands at 99.6%, with plans to reach 99.9% in the near future. This expansion aims to enhance service reliability and meet subscriber expectations.

He noted that the company is working closely with its partners to identify and address technical challenges that cause service disruptions, emphasizing that the goal is to reduce outages and improve network efficiency to ensure continuous and high-quality service.

Nama Electricity Distribution is the sole licensed distributor of electricity in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, except for Dhofar Governorate. The company plays a pivotal role in developing distribution infrastructure, improving service quality, and ensuring its sustainability.

The CEO outlined that the company’s projects are divided into several key areas: development projects to expand and reinforce the electricity network; connection and extension projects for residential, industrial, and commercial establishments; and technical projects focused on automating the network and adopting the latest smart grid management systems. These initiatives will enable the integration of renewable energy sources in the future and provide intelligent solutions for managing the distribution system, ensuring exceptional services for subscribers.
