
MUSCAT: The Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) on Sunday confirmed the Sultanate’s participation in eight sports at the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 7 to 21, 2025.
Oman will compete in weightlifting, aquatic sports, esports, karate, taekwondo, athletics, para-athletics, and fencing.
In weightlifting, Elias bin Tamim Al Busaidi (71 kg) and Amer bin Salem Al Khinjari (88 kg) will compete under coach Ahmed Saad Zakaria and team manager Yousuf bin Saeed Al Hasani.
The swimming team includes Mishal bin Salem Al Kulaibi (100m freestyle, 50m & 100m butterfly) and Mohammed bin Khamis Al Wahaibi (50m butterfly, 100m & 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke), coached by Mohammed bin Alia Al Sahli and managed by Ahmed bin Ali Al Marhoon.
Esports players Abdullah bin Badr Al Amri, Sultan bin Kamran Al Balushi, and Amjad bin Waleed Al Zadjali will contest Rocket League, coached by Abdullah bin Nasser Al Ateeqi and managed by Hamad bin Yaqoub Al Jahwari.
In karate, Idris bin Ali Al Batrani (60 kg) will compete under coach Ali bin Saeed Al Shabibi.
The taekwondo team includes Nibras bin Mohammed Al Tawqi (54 kg) and Omeima bint Harib Al Hinai (46 kg), with coach Adel bin Khalifa Al Wahaibi and manager Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Kathiri.
The athletics squad features Ali bin Anwar Al Balushi, Mulham bin Darwish Al Balushi, Fatak bin Abdulghafour Bait Jaaboub, Mohammed bin Hamdan Al Suleimani, Rashid bin Hweishil Al Asmi, Fatak bin Adnan Bait Qaisan, and Mohammed bin Ubaid Al Saadi, coached by Imad Mohammed Shawqi Siraj and Fahad bin Khalfan Al Mashaykhi, managed by Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Dhuhouri.
Para-athlete Taha bin Abdullah Al Harrasi will compete in the men’s 100m T37, supervised by Adnan bin Mubarak Al Owaidi.
The fencing team includes Said bin Khalid Al Shu’aibi, Ahmed bin Anwar Kaskas, Al Harith bin Salem Al Harithi, Ali bin Hamad Al Busaidi in men category and women’s squad comprises Israa bint Saif Al Siyabi, Jana bint Mohammed Al Sharji, Salma bint Saeed Al Daghishi, and Ghazal bint Yousuf Al Fuliti, led by coaches Hisham bin Ali Karchoud and Abdulrahman Adel Farouk Ahmed, and manager Badr bin Saeed Al Shu’aibi.
The official Omani delegation will be led by Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, OOC Vice President, with Musa bin Khamis Al Balushi as Deputy Head of Mission and Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamkhalif as OOC Secretary General.
Ambusaidi said Oman’s participation reflects the OOC’s commitment to preparing athletes for top-level competition and fostering unity through sport.
The Riyadh 2025 Games, themed “One Nation,” will host over 3,000 athletes from 57 countries across 23 sports.
