Cairo: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, participated in the 41st Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Omani delegation was headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs.
During the meeting, the Arab Ministers of Justice discussed a number of items on the agenda, including the report of the Technical Secretariat of the Council on the steps taken to implement the Council's resolutions, the resolutions and recommendations of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice from its 74th and 75th meetings, and the issue of combating terrorism in light of relevant Arab agreements and their implementation mechanism.
The Council also discussed issues related to unifying Arab legislation, the Arab Convention Against Corruption, the draft Arab Convention on the Status of Refugees in Arab States, the draft Arab Convention on the Protection of Personal Data, ways to enhance cooperation between the secretariats of the Councils of Arab Ministers of Justice and Interior and reviewing the special account of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice.
The Council also considered proposals from a number of Arab countries, namely the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Tunisian Republic, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Sudan, in addition to proposals from the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
It also reviewed the work programme of the Technical Secretariat of the Council between its 41st and 42nd sessions, the agenda items of the Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research, and the determination of the venue and time for the 42nd session of the Council.
