Muscat: The Muscat Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Police Unit in Baushar, has taken action against a large number of motorists for disturbing public peace and endangering road users.
According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP), 122 drivers were stopped for causing public nuisance by emitting loud and disruptive sounds from modified vehicle exhausts.
The authorities also seized 19 vehicles after their drivers were found performing reckless and dangerous driving, as well as performing stunts on the roads posing serious risks to spectators and other motorists.
Police confirmed that all legal procedures have been completed, and urged members of the public to comply with traffic laws to ensure the safety for all.
