Oman, World Bank discuss areas of educational cooperation

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the World Bank on Sunday discussed financial challenges related to providing infrastructure for government schools and building new schools to replace evening-shift schools.

The discussion took place during a meeting between Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, and Wendy Werner, World Bank Group’s Country Manager for the Sultanate of Oman.

Dr. Madiha commended the efforts made by the World Bank office in Oman in supporting the development of educational action.

The two sides discussed areas of educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the World Bank aimed at meeting common educational goals.

For her part, Wendy Werner lauded the developmental achievements made across various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman. She welcomed initiatives to enhance the existing cooperation between the two sides.
