Oman pooled with Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Zimbabwe at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Muscat: The ICC has announced the schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, confirming that Oman has been placed in Group B alongside Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Ireland.

The tournament will begin on 7 February, with the final scheduled for 8 March. Group B matches, featuring co-hosts Sri Lanka, will be played entirely at Sri Lankan venues. Oman will follow the same group-stage format used in 2024, with 20 teams divided into four groups of five and the top two progressing to the Super Eights based on pre-determined seedings.

The schedule was unveiled at an event in Mumbai attended by ICC Chairman Jay Shah, ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta, and T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma, who was also named ICC Brand Ambassador for the 2026 edition.

The ICC also detailed venue allocations for semifinals and the final, including contingency plans related to Pakistan’s progression.

9 February, 2026 vs Zimbabwe, Colombo; 

12 February vs Sri Lanka, Kandy;

14 February vs Ireland, Colombo;

20 February vs Australia, Colombo.
