The International Anti-Corruption Day falls on 9 December every year.

Shabib bin Nasser bin Khalfan Al Busaidi, Director General of Legal Affairs and Head of the Integrity Promotion and Anti-Corruption Committee at the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, said in a speech on the occasion that the International Anti-Corruption Day offers an opportunity for countries of the world to focus on dedicated action to combat corruption and promote the values of integrity across all sectors.
He added that the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority accords great importance to raising awareness among young people about the risks of corruption, and that the Authority is leveraging young people’s role in disseminating the values of integrity. He noted that young people possess a high capacity for innovation, constructive thinking and enthusiasm for initiatives that promote integrity in society.
Al Busaidi pointed out that, since the Sultanate of Oman joined the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2013, the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority has been acting in cooperation with the departments concerned to meet international requirements by adopting the best practices and promoting integrity.
