Oman closely monitoring developments in the Republic of Yemen

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is closely monitoring the latest developments in the Republic of Yemen, reaffirming its long-standing position that calls for restraint and the exercise of wisdom in addressing all issues through constructive dialogue, mutual understanding and fraternal consensus.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oman expressed its support for efforts to de-escalate the situation, contain tensions and address the root causes of the crisis.

The statement stressed the importance of respecting Yemen’s sovereignty, security and stability, as well as the will of its people, underscoring the need to reach consensual political solutions that would contribute to achieving peace and harmony for all, while safeguarding the national security of neighbouring countries.
