Developed in close partnership with Muscat Municipality, this landmark initiative reflects a shared vision to enhance Muscat’s urban environment while delivering world-class communication platforms that serve both the community and commercial partners.
Thoughtfully designed to integrate seamlessly into the city’s surroundings, the network contributes to a modern, dynamic, visually cohesive, and sustainable urban experience.
The new Digital Roadside Network comprises 15 strategically positioned large-format digital faces upgraded from static, across Muscat’s key arterial routes, delivering high-impact visibility and strong audience engagement. Each screen is eye-level on the roadside and strategically placed in high traffic and high dwell time areas, ensuring unmatched visibility. With the ability to run dynamic, time-sensitive content through optimized voice of shared advertisers, the network offers advertisers increased frequency, flexibility, and relevance and assists the community by providing immediate updates for urgent communications such traffic congestions and detours, Government and emergency alerts, weather conditions and warnings, city events, festivals and cultural highlights
“The launch of our Digital Roadside Network marks an important milestone for JCDecaux Oman. Through our long-standing partnership with Muscat Municipality, we continue to elevate the city’s visual landscape while respecting Muscat’s cultural identity—providing advertisers with smarter, more engaging, and more impactful ways to connect with audiences, all while remaining firmly aligned with our ESG commitments. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Muscat Municipality for their unwavering support and partnership in implementing this project.
I would also like to highlight and thank the operations team, who worked day and night. This achievement would not have been possible without their dedication and hard work. JCDecaux Oman is also proud to be part of Muscat’s continued progress toward digital innovation and a more sustainable future, in line with His Majesty’s Vision 2040.”
Bechir Chehab, Managing Director, JCDecaux Oman.
Empowering the Omani workforce is a central element of this project’s execution.
From the early design stages—where each asset was carefully curated to blend seamlessly with Muscat’s environment and preserve its cultural character—to the installation of the network spanning from Muttrah to Al Khoudh, and lastly, the maintenance. Every phase has been driven by local expertise.
The dedication behind this project is deeply valued, reinforcing the belief that behind every great achievement is a great team.
“Our screen’s design stands as a unique innovation, marking its first installation in the region. This groundbreaking project not only showcases advanced technology but also empowers young Omanis, involving them in every phase to shape the future of media installations."
Mohammed AlMandhari, Operations Manager, JCDecaux Oman.
Sustainability remains a core pillar of this deployment. The assets are constructed using recyclable materials and equipped with energy-efficient LED screens that significantly reduce power consumption. As further commitment, the network will soon introduce automated on/off functionality, allowing screens to power down during non-peak hours to optimize energy use and minimize environmental impact. This approach underscores JCDecaux Oman’s broader commitment to delivering media solutions that respect and enhance the urban environment while fostering meaningful connections between brands and people.
This launch forms part of JCDecaux Oman’s ongoing mission to expand its smart, data-enabled media portfolio in line with Oman Vision 2040—supporting the Sultanate’s ambitions for digital innovation, sustainable urban development, and enriched city experiences.
