More than 5,000 people attend Iftar in Ruwi

Muscat: In a remarkable display of unity, service, and community spirit, the Deccani Wing of the Indian Social Club Oman successfully hosted its annual Hyderabadi Community Iftar at the iconic Clock Tower in Ruwi, welcoming an unprecedented gathering of over 5,500 attendees.


The event brought together prominent community leaders, families, elders, youth, and volunteers, reflecting the strong bonds of brotherhood and the true essence of Ramadan.

For more than two decades, this annual iftar has stood as a symbol of togetherness and compassion, and this year’s gathering further strengthened its legacy. The evening was marked by meticulous planning and seamless coordination, ensuring a comfortable and spiritually uplifting experience for all attendees. Special arrangements were made to accommodate families, elders, and children, highlighting the inclusive spirit of the Deccani community.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and gratitude as the Maghrib call to prayer echoed through the historic landmark, followed by the breaking of the fast and congregational prayers. Thousands of iftar meals were distributed efficiently, thanks to the tireless efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers who worked with sincerity and devotion.

Mr. Suhail Khan, a senior community leader, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying:

"Alhamdulillah, witnessing over 5,500 people come together in unity and brotherhood is truly humbling. This gathering reflects the strength, generosity, and spirit of our community. Volunteer Syed Fasiuddin shared his experience, stating:

Volunteer Shabaaz Ali highlighted the teamwork behind the success, saying:

Community member Abdul Aziz reflected on the emotional significance of the gathering:

Munawaruddin, another respected member of the community, added:
