Muscat: The Maritime Security Center has announced that the oil tanker SKYLIGHT, flying the flag of the Republic of Palau, was targeted approximately five nautical miles north of the Port of Khasab in the Musandam Governorate.
According to the Center, all 20 crew members aboard the vessel were safely evacuated following the incident. The crew comprised 15 Indian nationals and five Iranian nationals.
Initial reports indicate that four crew members sustained varying degrees of injuries. They have been transferred to medical facilities to receive the necessary treatment. No fatalities have been reported.
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and monitor developments in coordination with relevant agencies. Further details are expected as investigations progress.
