CAA issues circular suspending all operating air activities in Oman

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the immediate suspension of all operating permits for aerial activities across the Sultanate of Oman.

This directive, effective from the date of the circular, mandates that all flights involving unmanned aircraft—commonly known as drones—are prohibited, regardless of whether they are intended for governmental, commercial, or recreational purposes.

No new permits for these activities will be issued throughout the duration of the decision.

This measure comes as part of the temporary precautionary actions undertaken by the Authority to enhance safety levels and regulate the use of the airspace, ensuring the highest standards of aviation safety.

The situation will be reviewed on a continuous basis, and the appropriate decision will be taken in accordance with developments.

The CAA emphasises the importance of adhering to the provisions of this decision, appreciating everyone's cooperation to ensure the highest standards of security and safety in the Sultanate.
