Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organise the Oman-Belarus Business Forum on Thursday to enhance economic and trade cooperation and explore joint investment opportunities in several vital sectors.
Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI, stated that the organisation of the Oman-Belarus Business Forum represents an important step in strengthening the presence of the Omani private sector in international markets and opening new horizons for economic cooperation with the Republic of Belarus.
He explained in a statement to Oman News Agency that the forum is an opportunity for business owners and investors from both sides to explore investment opportunities and build qualitative partnerships in vital sectors. He noted that the Chamber is keen to enable the private sector to benefit from such events to enhance its competitiveness and expand its business scope.
He added that direct bilateral meetings between companies represent one of the forum's most prominent outcomes, as they contribute to transforming opportunities into tangible projects, supporting the growth of Omani exports, and transferring knowledge and expertise, which positively reflects on the development of the national economy and the achievement of economic diversification targets.
The forum brings together producers, exporters, and wholesale trade companies, along with agencies and institutions concerned with promoting international trade. It covers a range of key sectors, including: food security and agriculture; engineering industries and furniture; pharmaceuticals and information technology; tourism and banking services and the logistics sector.
The forum will feature introductory presentations from the Omani side regarding available investment opportunities, while the Belarusian delegation will present a series of briefings focusing on growth areas and promising sectors for bilateral cooperation. Additionally, it will review ways to develop shipping routes between the two countries and enhance banking cooperation and payment execution mechanisms.
On the sidelines of the forum, direct bilateral meetings (B2B) will be held between representatives of companies and institutions from both sides to build new trade and investment partnerships, contributing to the expansion of trade exchange and the strengthening of economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus.
