Sur: The new expansion of the Sur Referral Hospital in the Wilayat of Sur, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, was inaugurated today under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and in the presence of Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.

The expansion aims to enhance specialized health services and improve the efficiency of medical care provided, contributing to an increase in the hospital's total capacity to 206 beds—an addition of 58 beds—which supports efforts to develop the health system and achieve sustainability in therapeutic services.

The project was implemented through a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Al Jisr Foundation as part of supporting community partnerships aimed at contributing to the development of the health sector and enhancing the quality of its services.

The new expansion includes 58 beds, comprising a dialysis unit with a total capacity of 28 beds and four isolation rooms with a total capacity of 10 beds. Additionally, it features an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a 30-bed capacity, distributed into an 8-bed pediatric ICU, a 12-bed adult ICU, and a 10-bed cardiac care unit, thereby strengthening the hospital's ability to provide advanced specialized services with high operational efficiency.

This expansion represents a significant addition to the health services in South A’Sharqiyah Governorate due to the support it provides for vital medical specialties and the increase in capacity, which contributes to improving the level of healthcare provided to citizens and residents in the governorate and neighboring areas.

Dr. Yahya Humaid Al Masrouri, Director of Sur Hospital, stated that the Ministry of Health is continuing its efforts to develop health services in accordance with international standards, noting that this expansion embodies the Ministry's direction toward building a sustainable and decentralized health system that responds to the needs of the population and provides a supportive work environment for continuous professional development, which is reflected in the quality of the health services provided.
