Oman ready to support initiatives for long-term peace: Sayyid Badr

Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, has stressed the urgent need for serious negotiations to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

In a statement posted on social media, Al Busaidi noted that while the world has “stepped back from disaster,” there is “no room for complacency,” warning that sustained diplomatic efforts are essential to prevent renewed tensions.

He underscored that meaningful dialogue is now required to secure a durable resolution, adding that Oman stands ready to support initiatives aimed at achieving long-term peace.

“Oman will support this work for the vital and urgent purpose of strong and enduring regional security,” he said.

Oman has long positioned itself as a neutral mediator in regional and international conflicts, consistently advocating dialogue and de-escalation as key tools for conflict resolution. The minister’s remarks reaffirm the Sultanate’s commitment to fostering stability through diplomacy at a critical time for the region.
