Al Seeb — The “Eid Festival” activities began today in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, organised by the Office of the Wali of Al Seeb in cooperation with the General Directorate of Muscat Municipality in Al Seeb and several government and private sector entities. The three-day event is being held as part of Eid Al-Adha celebrations in the Sultanate of Oman.
The festival is taking place in morning and evening sessions to enhance the festive social and cultural atmosphere associated with the blessed occasion celebrated across Oman and the wider Arab and Islamic world.
The event features a variety of traditional musical and folk performances, alongside national and emotional poetry recitals. Cultural and artistic competitions for children are also being organized on the open stage, in addition to horseback riding activities and horsemanship lessons.
A consumer exhibition for productive families from the wilayat is also being held, with participation from entrepreneurs representing small and medium enterprises, as well as street vendors showcasing and selling food products and consumer goods.
Ahmed bin Ali Al Shehhi, Wali of Seeb, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said the festival is being held at a central location in the wilayat to serve as a social gathering that reflects the joy and happiness of Eid Al-Adha.
He added that the festival has attracted large crowds of visitors, prompting organizers to make it an annual event during both Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha due to the strong public turnout and engagement from citizens and residents alike.
