Mercury hits 50°C as summer heat peaks in Oman

Muscat: The Wilayat of Mahout in Musandam Governorate has recorded the highest temperature in the Sultanate of Oman, which was 50 degrees Celsius. 

According to the Oman Meteorology, the highest temperature in the Sultanate of Oman was recorded in the Wilayat of Mahout, reaching 50 degrees Celsius, followed by the Wilayats of Al-Zamim in Al Wusta Governorate , Nizwa in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate , Dama WA Al-Taiyin in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate , and Badiyah in same governorate , as well as in Qarn Al-Alam in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with 48 degrees Celsius.
