RAO band secures third place in Renfrew Music Competition in Scotland

London: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) Band achieved today third place in the world-class (second) level competition within the Renfrew Music Competition, which is hosted by the city of Renfrew in Scotland, the United Kingdom (UK), with the participation of more than 20 musical bands from various countries around the world.

The Royal Army of Oman Band also achieved several honourable individual results in the competition, as Warrant Officer Mohammed Khamis Al Amri secured first place in the stick-bearers competition, Captain Hamid Suleiman Al Ghafri achieved third place, while Warrant Officer Talal Ali Al Maamari claimed fourth place in the same competition.

The Royal Army of Oman Band presented military musical performances at the (second) and (third) levels within the international classification for bagpipes and drums. The band's performance reflected its characteristic precision in execution, harmony in ensemble playing, and discipline in movement, winning the admiration of the large crowds present.

This participation marks the band's first involvement in global music competitions this year. The Royal Army of Oman Band will continue its participation in a number of music competitions held in different Scottish cities, including Dumbarton, Dundonald, Bridge of Allan, and Perth, concluding with its participation in the World Championship in Glasgow.
