Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized prohibited cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and related accessories from a commercial establishment in North Al Batinah Governorate as part of its ongoing market inspection campaign.
The Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah confiscated 17 electronic cigarettes, 123 packs of prohibited cigarettes, and 10 electronic cigarette accessories during an inspection conducted on 21 June 2026.
According to the CPA, inspectors found the establishment in possession of, displaying and selling the prohibited products, in violation of applicable laws and regulations.
The authority said the seizure forms part of its continuous inspection efforts carried out through its directorates and departments to combat the circulation of banned products, protect consumers' health and safety, and curb illegal commercial practices.
The CPA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying inspection campaigns across markets to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations and urged businesses to refrain from trading in prohibited products. It also called on consumers to report violations through its dedicated hotline.
