Nama  implements projects to enhance electricity supply in Al Wusta

Muscat: Nama Electricity Distribution Company continues to implement a package of development projects in Al Wusta Governorate, costing more than OMR 28,425,000. These projects include connecting the electricity network in the governorate's wilayats (districts) to the main grid, increasing the distribution network's capacity and efficiency, and enhancing its flexibility. This will strengthen the system's reliability, reduce losses, and ensure compliance with network safety standards.

This comes within the framework of Nama Electricity Distribution Company's strategic plans to enhance the reliability of the electricity network and expand its service area to meet the demands of urban and economic growth in the governorate's wilayats.

Engineer Mohammed bin Rashid Al Qari, General Manager of Major Projects at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, confirmed that these projects are part of the company's development plans to enhance the efficiency and capacity of the electricity network and keep pace with the rapid urban, population and economic growth witnessed in the wilayats of Al Jazir, Duqm and Mahout in particular.

Al Qari noted that the company is committed to implementing its projects according to approved schedules while fully adhering to quality and operational safety standards.

He emphasized that these projects will contribute to enhancing the stability of the electricity grid and improving the quality of service provided to subscribers across various sectors.

Al Qari explained that the projects being implemented include the construction of three substations with feeders in the wilayats of Al Jazir and Duqm, at a cost of OMR 12,388,256; the construction of a distribution system linked to the main substation in the Wilayat of Al Jazir, at a cost of OMR 4,676,831; the construction of the Haj substation with feeders in the Wilayat of Mahout, at a cost of OMR 582,169; the construction of the Khalouf substation with feeders in the Wilayat of Mahout, at a cost of OMR 1,185,601; the construction of the Najda substation with feeders in the Wilayat of Mahout, at a cost of OMR 3,641,689; the construction of the new Sarab substation with high-voltage feeders in the Wilayat of Mahout, at a cost of OMR 1,336,809; and the construction of a distribution system linked to the main Duqm and Mahout substations, at a cost of OMR 4,614,561.

The General Manager of Major Projects at Nama Electricity Distribution Company confirmed that these projects aim to connect the distribution networks in these wilayats to the main electrical grid and enhance the reliability of power supply in Al Wusta Governorate. This will support economic and urban development and respond to the growing needs of the governorate's wilayats.
