Ever since opening its doors back in 1975, the Cleopatra shop became one such iconic place in Oman. At its centre was Mr. Hakimi: A man whose humility, warmth, and quiet generosity left a lasting mark on everyone who crossed his threshold.
Hakimi's story in Oman began in the early 1970s when he arrived from Iran, bringing with him a strong work ethic, deep values, and a gentle spirit. It did not take long for him to plant his roots in Omani soil and build a life grounded in community and hard work.
In 1975, he visited the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to register a new company. That time his friend told him to register the company as Cleopatra Trading and Contracting, which would give him good business and income.
By the time I visited him in his shop in the 1990s, Mr. Hakimi had established himself not just as a businessman, but as a genuine friend to everyone. Whether you were a first-time visitor or a daily regular, he greeted you with open arms and a humble spirit that instantly made you feel like family. Stepping into his shop meant slowing down for a warm smile and a sincere chat.
A Final Farewell: A Life Well Lived
When Mr. Hakimi passed away on August 7, 2026, the true measure of his impact became profoundly clear. At his funeral, a vast crowd gathered to pay their respects—a moving testament to the countless lives he touched over more than five decades. People from all walks of life came together to stand with his grieving family.
He is survived by his loving wife and his two sons, Ahmed and Hameed, who carry forward his noble values and precious memory. Amidst their grief, his family expressed deep gratitude to everyone who showed up to offer comfort and support during those difficult days. Seeing the community rally around them was a powerful reminder of the deep love and respect Mr. Hakimi had earned throughout his remarkable life.
Mr. Hakimi’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. He proved that true success is built on kindness, integrity, and genuine human connection. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
