
Nizwa: Nizwa Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received about 22 applications during the first half of this year, 20 of which were settled projects with a total investment volume exceeding OMR12 million.
These projects will be built on a total area exceeding 51,000 square metres, and investments vary between the oil and gas sectors, the manufacture of chemicals, medical supplies, building materials, glass products, and other sectors that add value to the Governorate in particular and the Sultanate of Oman in general.
Saeed bin Abdullah Al Balushi, Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, explained that the total volume of cumulative investments in the city exceeded OMR560 million by the end of the first half of 2026, while the number of existing and productive projects is 193, employing 6,100 workers with an Omanisation rate exceeding 45 percent, and the total area of the city is 7.2 million square metres.
He confirmed in a statement to the Oman News Agency that Madayn continues to work on implementing a group of vital projects in Nizwa Industrial City, such as launching a tender for consultancy studies for the residential area project. It also helps in completing the leasing of leasable spaces in the Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that have obtained the Riyada card. This project is being established on an area of 11,000 square metres in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and at a cost of OMR1.2 million.
He further pointed out that the first half of this year witnessed the opening of a number of factories in the field of medical and food supplies, oil and gas and iron formations, and the planting of 386 trees out of more than 2,415 trees that are currently located within the industrial city. In addition to the implementation of the installation of solar energy cells to reduce electricity consumption as an initial experiment for one of the investing companies.
The Masar Services Centre in Nizwa Industrial City is an investment window with a unified system to facilitate and simplify the procedures for investors to obtain all the necessary approvals, permits and licenses for their investment project in one place and within a specific time period.
This is in line with Madayn’s endeavour to form a system of integrated services that investors need to create and add value to an attractive business environment for investments in the Sultanate of Oman.
