The Oman Animal Welfare Association (OAWA) and Europcar Oman & Bahrain, part of Asha Enterprises LLC, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at a ceremony hosted by The Diplomatic Club, Muscat, to strengthen cooperation in animal rescue, community awareness, fundraising and engagement initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman.
The MOU was signed by Sayyida Salsabeel bint Badr Al Busaidi, Chairperson, Oman Animal Welfare Association and Nitin Sapre, Group CEO, Asha Enterprises LLC, in the presence of Charm Majolica, Director, The Diplomatic Club, OAWA Board Members and members of Team Europcar.
Under the partnership, Europcar will provide mobility support, including a vehicle and driver, to assist OAWA’s animal rescue activities. The collaboration will also extend to awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, selected events and community engagement programmes. Europcar Oman & Bahrain will host mutually agreed OAWA fundraising and awareness activities at its Headquarters, providing the necessary venue and event support. OAWA will also be invited to participate in Europcar’s Internship Fair and similar community-focused events, with dedicated space to promote its work, raise awareness and engage with attendees.
Adding a personal dimension to the partnership, Team Europcar members who attended the signing ceremony will take up membership with OAWA, with the membership fees sponsored by Europcar. The initiative is intended to encourage the team to understand OAWA’s work more closely and participate in selected activities where they can contribute their time and support.
Nitin Sapre, Group CEO, Asha Enterprises LLC, said:
“At Asha Enterprises, we believe giving back to the community is a responsibility, not just a choice. Our Beyond Mobility philosophy reflects our commitment to using our resources, people and network to create a positive impact beyond transportation. Through Europcar Oman & Bahrain, we are pleased to support OAWA with practical mobility assistance for animal rescue while encouraging greater awareness and participation in this meaningful cause.”
Sayyida Salsabeel bint Badr Al Busaidi, Chairperson, Oman Animal Welfare Association, said:
“Animal welfare depends on committed partnerships and people who are willing to turn support into action. This collaboration with Europcar will strengthen our rescue efforts, expand awareness and help us engage more people in creating a more compassionate environment for animals in Oman.”
Charm Majolica, Director, The Diplomatic Club, added:
“The Diplomatic Club is proud to provide a platform for partnerships that bring genuine value to the community. This collaboration reflects the spirit of collective responsibility, bringing organisations and individuals together to support animal welfare through compassion, awareness and meaningful action.”
The MOU establishes a framework for both organisations to work together on awareness, employee participation, event support and community initiatives, reflecting a shared commitment to animal welfare and responsible community engagement.
The collaboration marks another step in Europcar Oman & Bahrain’s Beyond Mobility journey, reinforcing its commitment to supporting meaningful community initiatives through practical action and long-term partnerships
