Muscat: Over 200 trees were planted at three schools in Muscat to help children realize the value of trees and environmental protection.
Over 40 staff members of Abu Timam Grant Thornton took part in a CSR event where they went to three government schools in Muscat- Jaber bin Zaid in Wattayah, Darsait primary school for girls and Wattayah primary school, and planted trees with the children watching and sometimes helping out.
Sayyid Mohammed Ahmed al Busaidi, Deputy Wali of Muttrah, and Dr. Ali Humaid al Jahwari, Director general at the Ministry of Education (MOE) were guests at the tree plantation event.
An official from the Grand Thorton said, “We visited three public schools and planted over 200 trees for these schools to beautification the environment of Oman and the surroundings of these schools. It’s great for the younger generation to see these and understand the important of this and know its significance and beauty.
“To add value to our work and empower our people and society, we want to make a positive contribution to the environment, and we hope to further develop this and target even more schools in the future.”
