Omani delegation visits India to discuss Indo-Arab conference

Muscat: An Omani delegation, led by Eng. Redha bin Juma Al Saleh, vice-chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), visited India to discuss the preparations for the fifth Indo-Arab Partnership conference.
The conference is being organised by India and the Arab League in Oman.
The delegation’s first meeting took place at the headquarters of Arab Ambassadors Council in New Delhi chaired by Dr Saud Al Sathi, president of Arab Ambassadors Council. Dr Mazin Al Masoodi, the honorary consul, Secretary General of the council and ambassadors of several Arab countries, also attended the meeting
The OCCI presented a paper explaining the conference theme, objectives, its preparations, conference agenda and participating authorities. The role of ambassadors in providing necessary support and promote the participation of their countries, officials and business owners in the conference were emphasised in the meeting. The ambassadors offered full support to make this conference a success.
A joint coordination meeting also held between the Arab and Indian side at the headquarters of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Industry (FICCI) in presence of the representatives from OCCI, Arab League, Indian Industries Federation, Arab Investors’ Federation and other official and private authorities who are partners of the conference.
Earlier, the Indian side welcomed the audience and expressed their thanks to the representatives of OCCI for accepting their invitation to attend this meeting at the headquarters of FICCI.
Eng. Redha talked about the attention of Oman chamber in dedicating maximum efforts for the successful completion of the conference in cooperation with the entire partners. He also welcomed the government officials from India and hoped huge number of participation from Indian businessmen to meet their counterparts from Oman and other Arab countries.
The Indian side suggested to make the main session of the conference on the investment climates and opportunities in India and emphasised the importance of concentrating on bilateral meetings between the India and Arab states.
The national secretary at the Indian Foreign Ministry and president of Arab Indian Friendship Association expressed his readiness to cooperation and promote the conference in India among various Indian traders across different states.
Various suggestions were discussed on simplifying the procedures of participation in the conference for Indian companies in addition to the sponsorships, working papers and print materials related to the conference.
Eng. Redha Al Saleh held bilateral meeting with the Omani ambassador to India and discussed ways of intensifying the benefit of Oman from the conference. The ambassador offered his support to make communication between the Arab and Indian side for the targeted success of the conference and to double the volume of Oman-India business in future as it was regular success in the past years.
OCCI invited entire companies and establishments who are interested in participating in the conference to register through the official website of conference www.iapc.oman.combefore the middle of November.
