Muscat: Two of Majid Al Futtaim’s shopping destinations in the Sultanate—City Centre Muscat, and City Centre Qurum—joined hands with the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) in its mission to empower people and spread awareness about breast cancer.
City Centre Muscat and City Centre Qurum are hosting a comprehensive range of events from October 18 until November 1.
This initiative underlines City Centre mall’s sustainability vision of developing prosperous communities that promote well-being and engagement, while creating great moments for everyone, every day. Breast cancer is a growing health problem worldwide, the second most common malignancy, and the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. In Oman, it is the most common cancer in females, and has been reported to effect much younger women in recent years.
“City Centre Muscat and City Centre Qurum are very proud to be a supporter of the Oman Cancer Association Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign,” said Husam Al Mandhari, senior mall manager, City Centre Muscat. “It is through this widespread campaign that women are able to educate themselves and be made aware that early detection and treatment saves lives.”
On this note, City Centre Qurum will turn pink at night for the whole month of October to show support for breast cancer awareness, lighting up with a stunning illumination.
The hope is that the pink lights serve as a reminder of the importance of early detection.
