State Council’s meeting on November 14 in Oman

Muscat: As per the provision of article No. 85 bis (29) of the Basic Law of the State and the regulations for its sessions, the State Council will hold the first session of the second annual sitting of the sixth term on November 14.
The State Council greeted His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the occasion of the 46th National Day and highlighted the royal care for the Shura march in the Sultanate.
In a statement on the occasion of the second annual sitting of the 6th term of the State Council, Dr. Khalid bin Salim Al Saeedi, Secretary General of the State Council said in a statement that the State Council is looking forward to continuing the achievements with dedication and determination while aspiring brighter future under the great support provided to the State Council by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
He added that the State Council’s work at the second sitting is based on many achievements that were made and that the State Council will give priority in the coming period to the economic issues.
As for the standing committees, he pointed out that some committees were restructured through merging some of them to become five standing committees namely legal committee, the social committee, the economic committee, education and research committee, culture, media and tourism committee.
While forming these committees, consideration has been made to benefit from the experiences of the members in the activities of these committee.
A work team has been formed to study the development of the role of the Omani woman association. Another work team has been also formed to prepare for the knowledge based economy seminar.
A special committee has been also constituted to study the report of the Financial and Administrative Audit Institute.
