Muscat: Oman Air unveiled several key developments to the worldwide travel and tourism industry as well as leading figures in the UK media, while successfully concluding its participation at the World Travel Market (WTM), at ExCeL London from November 7 to 9, 2016.
During the three-day business exhibition, as part of its ambitious growth programme and fleet expansion,Oman Air announced the launch of adaily flight from Manchester from May 2017. It also said that its double daily flights would move to Terminal 4 at London’s Heathrow airport.
To help demonstrate Oman Air’s continued commitment to improve the comfort of guests onboard, two members of the airline’s cabin crew were on the stand encouraging visitors to try the new award-winning business class seat that was on display.
An intense programme of meetings was scheduled throughout the three days with select members of the travel trade and media.

Oman Air had a very successful few days where we managed to communicate our award-winning offering and extensive international network to some important and influential figures in the travel industry. We are particularly delighted at the incredibly favourable reaction to our newly announced daily flight from Manchester to Muscat launching next year.”
Oman Air’s activities during WTM includedthe hosting of a small trade gathering where it recognised its most influential UK partners for their support in 2015-16, and a jointly hosted media event with the Oman Ministry of Tourism.
As part of the media event, Rogier De Jager, regional vice president Europe for Oman Air, introducedthe airline’s annual media awards to reward the journalists responsible for the best articles / broadcast appearing in the UK in 2015-16. The awards were presented in the presence of Maitha Al Mahrouqi, under-secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Oman.
Oman Air has itself celebrated numerous awards since its participation in WTM London 2015 including the “Best International Airline” and “Best In-Flight Magazine” as well as awards for its new business class seat, which was tested with enthusiasm during the show.
