Muscat: Eight major road projects have been opened in Oman, making travel throughout the Sultanate easier and faster.
These projects were built on 150 km of roadway, according to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC).
The newly opened road projects include the Mahdha-Al-Rowdha dual carriage way project, Dhank-Al-Khabeeb Road project (2nd phase), the internal road project for Al-Aflaj village in Al-Mudhaibi, Bardh road project in Al-Mudhaibi, Falaj Al-Qabaeel flyover in Sohar, Al-Ainya-Boore-Somra villages road project in Samaeel, Samad Al-Shaan-Wadi Andaam road project in Al-Mudhaibi and Wadi-Menqal-Wadi Bani Jabber road project in Sur.
The roads were opened to celebrate the 46th National Day Celebrations, the Ministry said.
Ministry of Transport and Communications officials said that it is going ahead with several projects to connect the transportation sector in Oman. “We are providing new roads which enable safe travel for motorists, as well as improve the socioeconomic, tourism and commerce flow in these governorates,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport.
