Muscat: An Indian film will be made in Oman in March, said the film’s Muscat-based executive producer.
“The 130-member crew will be filming mainly in Muttrah, Nizwa, Ibri and some other locations in Oman. It is a story about human connections. The story revolves around the struggles of an Iranian girl born to an Indian mother ,” said Renny Johnson, the executive producer.
The lead role will be played by Adil Hussain, an Indian stage, television and film actor, who has worked in international films like 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist' and 'Life of Pi'.
“Swetha Menon, Indian model and actress, will play a leading female role in the movie, and Reem Kadem, a Hollywood actress, will be playing a role,” said Renny, who is also an executive manager for Mezoon Travels, which has done more than 20 movies in Oman.
Reem made her debut in Hollywood opposite Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) on the UPN series, “Veronica Mars”.
Indian actors Sudheer Karamana and Mythili Balachandran also are playing important roles in the movie.
“The movie is titled 'Naval Enna Jewel'. The movie is directed by Renji Lal Damodaran. The story by the director is scripted by V K Ajithkumar along with Renji Lal Damodaran,” added Renny.
The crew will be filming in Oman for 20 days from the last week of March.
“Many Indian movies, a few entirely and others in parts, were shot in Oman in the past. Oman’s inspiring landscapes and other facilities are helping us to produce more and more movies,” Renny added.
The movie will be dubbed in Malayalam, Hindi and English languages.
