Oman's State Council Chairman receives UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

Muscat: Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council received in his office on Sunday Prince Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Manthri affirmed that the Sultanate attaches a great attention to the human rights protection as it made several achievements in this regard, thanks to the wise directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The meeting discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between the two sides.
On his turn, Prince Zeid hailed the progress made by the Sultanate in various spheres, particularly in the field of human rights.
He also hailed the Sultanate's pivotal role and sincere efforts in coming up with peaceful solutions for different crises in the region.
The meeting was attended by the two Deputy Chairmen of the State Council, Abdullah bin Nassir Al Rahbi, Sultanate's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) and the delegation accompanying the guest.
