Muscat: Cloudy skies are forecast over most of the Sultanate, with temperatures varying from 38 degrees in Muscat, to 42 degrees in Nizwa. Dhofar will see thick clouds over its mountainous and coastal areas, with chances of intermediate rain.
"Low-level clouds or fog is expected along parts of the Arabia Sea and Oman Sea coast," according to a report by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation. Despite the cloudy skies, temperatures will still be high: Rustaq will see highs of 43 degrees, with 42 degrees in Sur and 39 degrees in Sohar.
Sea winds are predicted to be light during the day and night along the coastal areas of the sea of Oman, while along coastal areas of the Arabian Sea winds will be moderate.
The sea state in the Arabian Sea is expected to be rough compared to Oman and Musandam sea which is expected to be calm. "The Arabian Sea waves will reach up to three metres high, while the waves around the rest of the Sultanate will reach one and a quarter metres high," PACA said.
PACA also warned of "low visibility levels during the formation of fog and rain".
