Muscat: Oman will launch on Sunday the second phase of the National Measles Immunisation Campaign (NMIC).
The campaign to be conducted by the Ministry of Health (MoH) along with the other concerned authorities will is meant for people in the 20 to 35 age group and will run during September 10 to September 16.
The second phase of the campaign will include all the Sultanate’s governorates except the Governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta.
The NMIC second phase will be officially launched in the Governorate of Muscat at the North Al Khuwair Health Centre under the auspices of Sayyid Saud Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of State, Governor of Muscat, with the presence of Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health.
The campaign will be launched in the rest of the targeted governorates under the patronage of the Governors with the attendance of the Ministry of Helath’s undersecretaries.
Therefore, the measles vaccine will be available for the citizens and residents in the authorised public and private health institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Health and other institutions, such as the military and security authorities, the Diwan of Royal Court and the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, in addition to number of private health establishments.
Ensuring the safety and health of community individuals, the Ministry of Health calls upon all citizens and residents in the age group of 20-35 (born between 1982 to 1997) to head to the nearest vaccination site in order to get vaccinated, free of cost, as per scheduled dates.
