Muscat: No Omani students have been harmed as a result of Hurricane Irma, The ministry of Higher Education has confirmed.
"After our meeting with Dr. Talal Al-Balushi, Cultural Attaché, in Washington, D.C., it has been confirmed that all (Omani) students are well," the ministry said online.
"The cultural attaché will inform the students of any new developments with regard to Hurricane Irma," MOHE added.
Hurricane Irma, one of the most powerful Atlantic storms in a century, drove toward Florida on Friday as it lashed the Caribbean with devastating winds and torrential rain, leaving behind 14 deaths and a swathe of catastrophic destruction.
