Salalah: Maritime Security Centre evacuated a crew of a merchant vessel in the Arabian Sea, coming from Bandar Abbas port in Iran and heading to Barcelona, Spain, 60 nautical miles East of the Salalah Port.
The Maritime Security Centre received a distress call from the captain of the ship that includes a request for the treatment of a patient suffering from a seizure.
The Maritime Security Centre coordinates, within the framework of its duties, with the Royal Air Force of Oman, which in turn carried out the evacuation by a Super Lynx helicopter which transferred the patient to the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah for treatment.
