Muscat: McDonald’s employees took time out of their busy schedules to take part in the country’s annual Cancer Walkathon held at Qurum Park, demonstrating the brand’s support to Oman Cancer Association’s (OCA) noble efforts in raising greater cancer awareness.
“For many years, McDonald’s has been a supporter of OCA’s Cancer Walkathon and its noble initiatives. On behalf of McDonald’s Oman, we take pride in being part of this initiative that advocates about the utmost importance of regular screening as the best way of early detection,” commented Asma’a Al Maraghi, McDonald’s marketing manager, who spearheaded the McDonald’s team at the Cancer Walkathon.
She further said, “McDonald’s restaurants have OCA’s donation boxes through which generous individuals can give their monetary support to cancer patients. This has been part of our corporate social responsibility initiatives with OCA and with our valued customers through the years. Any monetary contribution given means a lot to the beneficiaries and it indeed goes a long way to help alleviate the suffering of cancer victims and their families.”
McDonald’s Oman demonstrated its solidarity with OCA’s annual Pink Ribbon Cancer initiative by adorning its restaurants with pink decors and getting the crew to wear pink cancer T-shirts and ribbons.
