Hamid was delivering the keynote address at the open seminar on Islamic Banking and Finance organised recently by the Modern College of Business and Science at the City Seasons Hotel.
The seminar, attended by banking professionals and others who hope to seek a career in the booming Islamic Finance industry, shed light on aspects of Islamic Banking, including key instruments and its significance in ensuring a healthy economy.
Dr. Ahmed Al Naamany, Dean of the College, noted, “With Oman opening up its financial industry to the Islamic Banking system, modern colleges want to contribute to the development of the sector by building a generation of trained Islamic Banking specialists. Our master programme in Islamic Banking, designed in collaboration with a leading Malaysian university, is a step in that direction. This seminar is another effort from our community to strengthen Oman’s Islamic Banking sector by bringing together the best minds in the industry.”
