Mitsubishi successfully completes Team Pajero Desert Adventure 2017-2018

Muscat: General Automotive Company (GAC), the official distributors for Mitsubishi in Oman, has successfully completed the fourth and final trip of Team Pajero Desert Adventure 2017-2018.
Taking place in the third week of January, the excursion saw over 264 people in 49 Mitsubishi Pajeros, alongside 10 marshal vehicles, head to the desert for a weekend of fun and adventure. Organised by GAC specifically for Pajero owners and enthusiasts, each one of these trips gives Pajero owners a taste of a true desert adventure in the vehicle best suited to handle the challenge — Mitsubishi Pajero.
Driven by popular demand, the Team Pajero Desert Adventure had been split into four separate groups this year, the most recent being the last of the four trips. The fourth trip was organised on January 20 and 21, and the next adventure will take place in the last quarter of 2018.
Commenting on the successful conclusion of the Team Pajero Desert Adventure, Manoj Ranade, general manager of General Automotive Company, said, “The objective of our desert adventure is for customers to experience first-hand the off-road capabilities of the Pajero and under the safe supervision of our marshals and mechanics. The desert adventure has gained popularity every year, and for the most recent edition, we have collectively taken over 1,000 customers and 200 Pajeros into the Wahiba Sands over just these past four months.”
The final desert adventure for the season began at the Mitsubishi showroom on the morning of January 20 and saw over 264 Mitsubishi customers in 49 Pajeros set off towards the desert. They were guided by GAC support staff in marshal vehicles, travelling on a predefined course as they headed to the Wahiba Sands.
On reaching Al Raha Camp, the convoy of Pajero vehicles was escorted by the marshals and given a safety briefing and specialised desert driving training. The drivers were taken on a dune bashing session, after which the group was taken atop a dune overlooking the camp to witness the stunning sunset. Once back at the camp a large number of activities and entertainment were prepared for the families to enjoy. The following morning, camel riding sessions and dune bikes were provided for the customers to use at their discretion. The convoy left the camp and returned to the Azaiba showroom shortly after.
Commenting on the desert adventure, Chandramouli Iyer, a participant said, “I express my sincere gratitude to the technical support crew and marshals who expertly directed the fleet of Pajeros safely through the dunes. I understand the pressure the technical team had to go through, despite which they did a brilliant job to ensure that everything went off smoothly without any hiccups, all with a cordial attitude and a smile.”
