Muscat: The operational position and its implementation of the Science and Math Chain Project was reviewed at a high-level meeting on Sunday.
The review came during a meeting of the Main Committee of Science and Math Chain Project chaired by Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, at the ministry’s headquarters in the presence of the Ministry’s undersecretaries, the directors general of education in the governorates and directors general of the concerned directorates.
Dr. Al Shaibaniyah pointed out that the meeting aims to view the project’s operational position and its implementation in the first cycle and to discuss the challenges searching for solutions that would implement the project chains as hoped.
She said that the development foundations are based on the guidance of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who stressed the importance of developing education in line with the needs of society and the development process, the foundations of the education strategy, competitiveness and the results of international studies carried out by the ministry, which underlined the importance of development in accordance with the requirements of the national vision of the Omani economy 2040 and the fourth industrial revolution.
She added that the implementation of the Science and Mathematics Chain project is part of the development system that the Ministry works on.
She added that the implementation of these series is aimed at improving the teaching of science and mathematics, improving results of the Sultanate’s students in the international studies in which they take part.
Attendees, supervisors of Science and Mathematics, teachers of Science and Mathematics, and those in-charge of training discussed all topics related to the implementation of science and mathematics series during the current year, which will be implemented during the next academic year.
