Muscat: Lulu Hypermarket is hosting an exciting week dedicated to Sri Lanka. The ‘Sri Lankan Delights’ organised in partnership with the Sri Lankan Embassy, Oman, will see an array of products exclusively from Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan ambassador M. K. Pathmanaathan was present to inaugurate this event on February 5 along with other senior officials from Lulu. The event will run until February 10. It will showcase the best of food items and other products from Sri Lanka. The aim of this promotion is to bring the best of Sri Lanka to Oman and provide the customers with an opportunity to get a feel of Sri Lanka in the hypermarket itself.
Inaugurating the event, Pathmanaathan said, “We are happy to collaborate with Lulu Hypermarket chain in organising the Sri Lankan products week which coincides with the 70th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka. Lulu hypermarket is playing a lead role in promoting Sri Lankan food items to the Omani market and others in the Gulf region. I do hope that the fast-growing popular hypermarket chain will introduce more and more products from Sri Lanka to their retail market. "
The ‘Sri Lankan Products Week’ will witness a live cooking demo by the Sri Lankan chef from Radisson Blu on February 9 and 10 from 7pm to 9pm at Lulu Bausher and Lulu Darsait. The opening day was marked by a fabulous performance by the Sri Lankan School Muscat students who put up a beautiful act on a traditional cultural item. Apart from this, the week will see several other contents, promotions and exciting events organised by the mall itself.
“At Lulu, we enjoy doing things differently; and when we do, we make sure it’s grand,” said Shabeer K. A., Regional director – Oman. “Since the very beginning, we have been selling a number of goods imported from Sri Lanka. With this event, we want to promote these excellent products so they can get the due visibility and recognition they deserve. This is our way of supporting our suppliers,” he added.
