Firm trend on Muscat bourse on better support

Muscat: Oman bourse remained buoyant with continued local buying with the Index closing at 5,536.72 points, up 0.06 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained by 0.64 per cent to close at 847.79 points.
OIFC was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Global Financial Investment, up 7.43 per cent, was the top gainer while Muscat Finance was the day’s top loser, with a loss of 6.50 per cent.
As many as 1,266 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR6.6 million with 32.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded securities, 23 advanced, six declined and 16 remained unchanged.
Omani investors were net buyers for OMR194,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR139,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR333,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index stayed bullish to close at 7,003.18 points, up by 1.29 per cent. Global Financial Investment, Oman Emirates Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Oman United Insurance and Gulf Investment Services gained by 7.43 per cent, 4.17 per cent, 3.76 per cent, 3.57 per cent and 3.09 per cent, respectively. Muscat Finance, Bank Nizwa and Bank Muscat declined by 6.50 per cent, 3.75 per cent and 1.05 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index gained by 0.33 per cent to end at 6,642.03 points. Galfar Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals, Al Jazeera Steel, Al Maha Ceramics increased by 4.35 per cent, 1.24 per cent, 0.69 per cent and 0.54 per cent, respectively.
Services Index retreated 0.36 per cent to close at 3,116.84 points. Al Jazeera Services, National Gas and OIFC gained by 2.42 per cent, 1.96 per cent and 0.48 per cent, respectively. Oman Telecommunications Company, Renaissance Services and Sharqiyah Desalination declined by 3.75 per cent, 2.06 per cent and 1.86 per cent, respectively.
