Financial analysis contest evokes good response

Muscat: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) said that 175 students from various colleges have registered for the financial analysis competition.
Raid bin Hussain Al Hooti, director of the information and awareness department stated that as many as 175 students have registered for the competition from various colleges in Oman such as Sultan Qaboos University, Sohar University, University of Nizwa, Modern College of Business and Sciences, Majan College, CBFS (College of Banking & Financial Studies), Higher College of Technology Muscat, Middle East College, Zahra College, Shinas Technical College and the College of Applied Sciences Nizwa.
The bourse has completed the registration for Financial Analysis Competition open for all college and university students in the Sultanate
It is organised by Muscat Securities Market in collaboration with the Sultan Qaboos University represented by college of Economics and Political Sciences. It is sponsored by Bank Muscat, Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and Oman Cables.
Al Hooti also added that the competition drew a large turnout exceeding the expectations among students and academics, stressing that the overwhelming response by the students shows their interest in the highly competitive challenge in the field of securities and their desire to learn as well as their eagerness to apply what they have learnt in this area through their academic life.
This competition is aimed to strengthening the financial analysis skills of students and gives them the opportunity to compete amongst each other and as they can only participate in groups it gives them the opportunity to develop teamwork skills.
The Muscat Securities Market holds an open meeting with the students to guide them and answer their queries.
