Booklet on energy conservation for students published

Muscat: The Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) has pledged financial support for the publication of a booklet that features energy conservation tips, as well as stories and games about electricity.
The booklet is designed for students in Cycle Two (Grades 5 to 10) in the Muscat Governorate and is based on the partnership and continuous cooperation between the MEDC, which is a member of the Nama Group, and the Ministry of Education, represented by the General Directorate of Education of the Muscat Governorate.
The company said it is financing the publication of the booklet, as it believes in the importance of educating students about issues related to energy, such as energy conservation, awareness of the dangers of electricity, and the proper maintenance of national energy facilities.
The support comes in accordance with a memorandum of understanding signed by the two parties in November 2014, which is among several projects for the benefit of students in the Muscat Governorate. One such project is a scientific bag that contains materials to carry out scientific experiments, including an electrical circuit, aimed at developing the scientific talents of students with the help of school laboratories.
The company has also supported the Future Generations booklet project, which was recently launched for students in cycle one, as well as other projects such as the provision of bookcases for schools and the "We live with electricity" drawing competition.
