Muscat: An official session of talks was held in Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj at the Ministry of Defence today between Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs and Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Minister of State for Defence Affairs in the sisterly State of Qatar, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.
The two sides reviewed fields of the existing military cooperation and exchanged viewpoints on issues of common concern to serve the joint interests of the two brotherly countries.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of the Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Defence and the Government of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Defence on service conditions for the Omani military officers and personnel dispatched to Qatar. The MoU comes within the framework of cooperation between the ministries of defence of the two countries. The session of talks was attended by Lt.Gen Ahmed bin Harith Al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the Qatari ambassador to the Sultanate and the delegation accompanying the guest.
The Qatari Minister of State for Defence Affairs arrived here today. He was received at A’Seeb Air Base by Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al-Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Lt.Gen Ahmed bin Harith Al -Nabhani, Sultan’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff, the Qatari ambassador to the Sultanate and SAF senior officers.
