Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Sunday and closed at 4,453.56 points, up by 0.47 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 612.55 points, up by 0.18 per cent. Dhofar Generating Company was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Almaha Ceramics, up by 2.63 per cent. The top loser was United Finance, which closed lower by 1.18 per cent.
A total number of 509 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.26 million with more than 12.87 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 6 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR895,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR3,000, while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR898,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.25 per cent to close at 6,907.93 points. Al Madina Investment, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Bank Muscat, Gulf Investment Services and Al Anwar Holding were up by 2.38 per cent, 1.57 per cent, 1.55 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 0.89 per cent respectively. United Finance and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were down by 1.18 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.02 per cent to close at 5482.59 points. Almaha Ceramics was up by 2.63 per cent. Galfar Engineering was down by 0.96 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.56 per cent to close at 2,391.37 points. Omantel, Al Suwadi Power, Ooredoo, Almaha Petroleum Products and Al Batinah Power were up by 2.03 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.04 per cent and 0.88 per cent respectively. Sembcorp Salalah, Al Jazeera Services and Dhofar Generating Company were down by 0.92 per cent, 0.88 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
