Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Monday and closed at 4,486.11 points, up by 0.73 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 617.21 points, up by 0.76 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Oman Cables Industry, up by 5.65 per cent. The top loser was National Bank Of Oman, which closed lower by 4.76 per cent.
A total number of 696 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.97 million with more than 15.28 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded stocks, 20 advanced, 8 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR366,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR190,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR557,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.15 per cent to close at 6,918.02 points. Ahli Bank, Al Madina Investment, Bank Muscat, United Finance and Alizz Islamic Bank were up by 3.33 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 1.18 per cent respectively. National Bank Of Oman, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, National Life & General Ins and Ominvest were down by 4.76 per cent, 1.05 per cent, 0.78 per cent, 0.59 per cent and 0.59 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.74 per cent to close at 5523.43 points. Oman Cables Industry, Almaha Ceramics, Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering and Al Jazeera Steel Products were up by 5.65 per cent, 5.13 per cent, 1.9 per cent, 0.97 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively. Oman Cement, Voltamp Energy and Oman Fisheries were down by 2.11 per cent, 1.37 per cent and 1.18 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.65 per cent to close at 2,406.99 points. Muscat Gases, Dhofar Generating Company, Omantel, Phoenix Power and Ooredoo were up by 4.9 per cent, 4.27 per cent, 3.98 per cent, 0.88 per cent and 0.75 per cent respectively. There were no losers.
