Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Monday and closed at 4,515.94 points, down by 1.04 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 622.56 points, down by 0.46 cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Taageer Finance, up by 7.69 cent. The top loser was Raysut Cement, which closed lower by 5.26 cent.
A total number of 494 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.51 million with more than 9.86 million shares changing hands. Out of 44 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 18 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR502,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR14,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR516,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.68 cent to close at 6969.09 points Taageer Finance and United Finance were up by 7.69 cent and 2.15 cent respectively. Al Anwar Holding, Bank Sohar, Ominvest, Muscat Finance and Gulf Investment Services were down by 2.5 cent, 2.29 cent, 1.73 cent, 1.1 cent and 1.04 cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.50 cent to close at 5643.91 points. National Aluminium Products, Oman Cables Industry and Gulf International Chemicals were up by 3.89 cent, 2.88 cent and 1.03 cent respectively. Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering, Oman Chlorine, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 5.26 cent, 1.85 cent, 1.25 cent, 1.15 cent and 1.06 cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.60 cent to close at 2,472.62 points. Muscat City Desalination and Almaha Petroleum Products were up by 1.48 cent and 0.47 cent respectively. OIFC, Omantel and Phoenix Power were down by 2.91 cent, 2.73 cent and 2.5 cent respectively.
